Summary: This study was conducted based on our experiences as research teachers in a Youth and Adult Education elementary school in the city of Vitória-ES. The research sought to put under discussion the body in the Youth and Adult Education students, in general, and more specifically in relation to the reading-writing processes. The question that guided the course of the research was: what is the place of the body when reading-writing is the commitment of all areas? Some other questions followed the investigative path: what is intended with the bodies of Youth and Adult Education? Keep them silent? Make them talk? Make them harsh land? Open them up to other experiences? What experiences are allowed to the body in this modality? The research was guided by the cartography method and its cartographic clues in which it understands the research as a follow-up of processes in which the experiences lived were all registered in a research diary and shared with the subjects of the study, provoking an exercise of collective analysis during the research. The research kept track of the searches for the place of the body in the reading-writing processes in classes produced in a teaching partnership mode that involved the areas of Art, Physical Education and Literacy in one part of the research process, and in another involved the areas of Physical Education and Literacy with the first-segment night classes and a first-segment afternoon class. The investigative process gave hints that the place of the body may be neither in reading nor in writing, that is, neither on one side nor on the other, nor outside of both, but in between, at the crossroads, in the place of passage, of transit, the body as a path and opening for the reading-writing process.
